Experiential Learning

Experiential Learning

“…for the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.” Aristotle

All students at Oasis International School are encouraged to develop their talents and interests through Experiential learning which “is a method of educating through the first-hand experience. Skills, knowledge, values and experience are acquired outside of the traditional academic classroom setting.” We have always tried to identify the potential of every student and hone them in the best way possible through implementation of the Potential Opportunity for Developing Success (PODS) programme.

At Oasis we have a well-planned, supervised and assessed experiential learning programme that stimulates academic inquiry by promoting interdisciplinary learning, civic engagement, career development, cultural awareness, leadership, and other intellectual skills.

This includes:- A Students’ Council, participation in inter-school events like Model United Nations, Civic Awareness programmes like the Bala Janagraha, Field Trips, Field Research, and Service Learning Projec Insert/edit linkts.

Experiential learning is a meaning-making process of the student’s direct experience, in which

  •  the learner is actively involved in the experience
  •  the learner reflects on the experience
  •  the learner uses analytical skills to conceptualise the experience; and
  •  the learner uses his decision-making and problem-solving skills to gain new ideas from the experience
